CBT

CBT, or cognitive behaviour therapy, is a talking therapy.

it has been proved to help treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults, young people and children.  CBT looks at how we think about a situation and how this affects the way we act.  In turn our actions then affect how we think and feel.  The therapist and client work together in changing the clients behaviours ,or their thinking patterns , or both of these .  CBT is the NHS choice of therapy for DEPRESSION, OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER and ANXIETY.

CBT what is cognitive behaviour therapy?

CBT is primarily concerned with the here and now it is known as a solution based therapy because it does not necessarily delve into the clients past experiences perhaps in the way that conventional psychology might.

A course of CBT would run from 6 to 20 weekly sessions depending on the presenting issue

CBT or cognitive behaviour therapy, is a talking therapy that has been proven to help treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults and young people,

CBT looks at how we think about a situation ( the cognitive process) and in turn how this affects the way we act ,how we think affects our actions  and our actions can affect the way we think so CBT looks at the interaction between both .particularly on what we tell ourselves or our internal dialogue,

Anthony uses the A B C model of CBT to put it quite simply nothing disturbs us we disturb ourselves by what we tell ourselves so A would be the event B would be what we tell ourselves about the event and C would be the resulting action in CBT we look at these sequences of thought among other things and whether they are helpful logical or true.
